View the Event Log

Overview

Event logging for the portal is automatically enabled in Data Hub Service (DHS). You can filter the view of the event log.

About this task

In this task, you will view and customize the event log in your DHS portal.
Note: To view portal user events, you must log into your DHS portal with the Security Administrator (SEC-ADMIN) portal role. See Portal Security Roles.

Procedure

  1. Go to the MarkLogic Data Hub Service home page and select the history icon () from the menu.
  2. Customize the view.

    You can filter by the time period, by user, by event, or by the description. You can also limit the number of events displayed.


    Event log

    Column Description
    Date & TimeThe date and time of the event. The local time zone of the user account is displayed.
    Event The event code.

    ByThe portal user account that triggered the event.
    DescriptionA description of the event, including the name of the instance if relevant, such as starting or stopping the service for the instance.

  3. (Optional) To restore the default view, click the refresh icon ().
