sql:dayname(
   $arg as xs:genericDateTimeArg?
) as xs:string?

Summary

Returns an xs:string representing the dayname value in the localized value of $arg.

If $arg is the empty sequence, returns the empty sequence.

Parameters
arg The date whose dayname value will be returned.

Example

sql:dayname(xs:date("1997-07-20"))
=>
Sunday

Example

sql:dayname("2012-05-16")
=>
Wednesday
